The Middleton VFW golf fundraiser has become one of the area's most popular golf events, with sponsorships and slots selling out quickly.
VFW Post 8216 has 501(c)19 status; your donation may be tax deductible.
This Sponsorship package includes:
- Your name or company name on signage at one hole
- Your name or company name on the Sonny Simon Golf Outing website
Some Veterans continue to deal with the sacrifices and after-effects of their service for years after they leave the military. Middleton’s William “Sonny” Simon VFW Post 8216 is committed to helping their band of brothers and sisters. It's our 20th year, and we have renamed the fundraiser to honor the Post's namesake and World War II Veteran, Sonny Simon. The Golf Outing was initiated in 2005 to raise funds to support community projects that assist Veterans. To date, the Sonny Simon Golf Outing has raised over $500,000, and distributed proceeds to non-profits and local programs, including
- Porchlight—Madison’s “helping hand” that aids homeless vets with housing and shelter solutions
- RSVP Vets Helping Vets—a ride program that gets vets to medical appointments
- Heat for Heroes
- TAPS: compassionate care resource for those grieving the loss of a military loved one
- Honor Flight-–Madison’s celebration of veterans with once-in-a-lifetime trips to Washington, DC’s national memorials
- Fisher House—support for military and veteran families with lodging and transportation during a soldier’s hospitalization
